Why

Medical care at home is more then a convenience - it can reveal needs that are not seen in a medical office visit. These needs can than be promptly addressed which can result in an improved quality of life for patient and caregiver.

A letter we received recently best illustrates the WHY.............. "My father Thomas J. Nowaski, passed away this past Sunday March 14, 2004.   Throughout his long illness, and that of my mother, Germain Gosselin, who predeceased him March 12, 2003, they received excellent care from their doctors but especially from Ellen Farrell our nurse practitioner.  It was Ellen who made the difference in their lives, brought them comfort, and eased their way.  It was Ellen who came in the middle of the night, without question, if there was a problem, ordered xrays at home, so they didn’t have to venture out ill, in inclement weather, took blood work at home, and just made the biggest difference in all our lives.  Initially, our doctors were somewhat resistant to our using her, but in the end they too viewed our nurse practitioner as a valuable resource.  We have requested that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the American Association of Nurse Practitioners."
